grillin mama

I've found a surprising (to me) amount of joy in taking the grilling reins away from Andy this summer. It's worked out well, while I grill he plays with the kiddos or putters with the pool or is otherwise useful. Things get done and we have a tasty dinner. usually when he grills I just sort of lump around with the kids.

I consider cookery to be an artistic process, Andrew will definitely agree that I'm liberal with my use of modification in recipes. Thats why from time to time if we have a particularly lovely dinner, I'll share it here.

Last night was Fajita's on the grill! We eat mexican(ish) food a LOT.  We don't usually grill it though. I think that might change!

To be grilled

(wo)manning the charcoal grill & the gas grill.

Seasoned the steak with this stuff. Good! very spicy, perfect for the fajita's, might be a little much for straight up steak.

my first time grilling tomatoes. i think they were a little over done, but they made some tasty...:

Salsa!!

sliced up the steaks, warmed some tortillas (wrapped in foil on the grill too)

paired well with:

perfect for a muggy night in backyard dining.

AND the leftovers made for some delicious pizza on naan bread, that somehow did not get documented. I guess we'll have to make that again.
